An area of almost 5000 m2 in an empty hobbymarket that we will use only temporarily. These are the initial conditions that directly challenge us to make an experiment in which the artists themselves will co-operate. Instead of traditional exhibitions we will present to you the basic facilities for operating a gallery – such as a library, a bistro, a shop, a cinema, even a garden, all of which can be used for at least a couple of years. We invited artists from the Czech Republic and the world to take part in our experiment and to help us build PLATO’s infrastructure in this year – gradually, in four cycles of the Con-temporary Structures project. The first to start with are the library, the bistro and the shop. Their interior will be additionally decorated with works by the laureates of the most important Czech award for artists.
