At this year’s Different Ostrava Experience, PLATO will present an exceptional concert entitled With Dawn. On Sunday 17 September, Daniel Skála will start his performance of a hammer dulcimer rendering of a part of Leoš Janáček’s Po zarostlém chodníčku (“On an Overgrown Path”, adapted for the instrument) and Szálkák (Splinters) by György Kurtág, all of this at dawn (6.26 a.m.). In the morning light the event will continue with DJ and producer Bartosz Kruczyński (Earth Trax, Pejzaż, formerly Phantom, Ptaki).
The concert will only be held in good weather.
At Dawn (W Brzask) is a summer concert series originally taking place at the park of Królikarnia around Xawery Dunikowski’s Museum of Sculpture. It was initiated by Ania Miczko and is run together with the Museum of Sculpture since 2013. The 2017 edition was cocurated by Ania and Robert Kamionek.
